Readiness Check

NHSF Accreditation Readiness Check

This 5-minute self-check helps an Alberta non-hospital surgical facility gauge how ready it is for CPSA accreditation across the full quality management system — from governance and records to surgical safety, anesthesia, and emergency readiness. You'll answer short, evidence-focused questions and get a readiness score by area, with practical next steps and a guide for each of your weakest domains.

Governance, Quality Management & Records

Is one named person responsible for your quality management system, with authority to act on it and a direct line to whoever decides facility policy and resources?

This can be an existing team member who also holds other duties — it does not have to be a dedicated role.

Are your policies and procedures version-controlled — approved before use, re-reviewed on a set schedule, with superseded copies pulled from circulation?

Assessors typically want a log showing which version is current and where it is in use.

This self-check is an educational tool to help you prepare. It is not an official CPSA accreditation assessment or a determination of compliance, and it is not legal advice. Your results are based only on your own answers and do not guarantee any accreditation outcome. This self-check is a short screening version — it covers only a fraction of what a complete readiness assessment examines.
